I came across your blog through wellheeled.
I’m also freelancing in the city but still waiting to get paid and find more ways to pitch publications. Good luck! Can I email you possibly about invoices and things like that? My editor said I’d be paid $50 an article and invoices would be processed every two weeks but I still haven’t seen the check even though she said it’s in the mail.

Hey I’m glad you’ve found my blog. I’ll be reading yours as well. May I add you to my blogroll? (I went ahead and added you b/c I don’t think you’ll say no
) I went to Emmanuel College in Georgia. Not the one in Boston.

Thanks, Kim. I took it on a dismal winter day in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Gradgirl, you’ve obviously learned quite a bit; this site is really nice. Did you spend any time focusing on technical writing? I know someone who does this that I bumped into during my commute. He said it was profitable. And I took a course in it a couple of years back and I found it quite interesting.
I’ll be adding you to my blogroll. I’m interested in hearing more about your tips for making money and writing. Its was the PF blogosphere is all about
Best of luck.

Easy Change: sorry for the delayed response. I actually took a course on technical writing in grad school and did one of my final projects as a manual for my (then) company.
It’s not my favorite thing, honestly. However, it pays really well. The average in Chicagoland is at least $45/hr.

Hi GradGirl!
Thanks for the comment on my blog. It’s so nice to find another Chicago PF Blogger. Don’t be a stranger. =)
Funny thing…I clicked on GG and got to your page and saw the pictures of the buildings. I was instantly thinking, that looks like Chicago! Then I saw the words Chicago-20 something. Funny how you can just look at a picture and just know.
Take care!
